Some Of Improvements In Carbide Inserts From Iscar

Iscar is announcing a brand new unique milling system using tangential, clamped, butterfly-shaped LNKX carbide inserts. The butterfly-shaped insert has considerable advantages compared to the current flat, square shapes. The new design has additional cutting edges, positive rake face, diminished cutting forces resulting in better performance. The carbide inserts are screw-clamped on the border of varied milling cutter types, providing unmatched conditions also for heavy-duty applications with remarkable surface quality, saving several other finishing operations. Cutters are presented for 90 degree shoulder milling and for facing with 45 degree lead angles.

Each carbide insert includes 8 cutting edges, four for right-hand and four for left-hand cutting, enhancing the economy of use. The two, toward-center-slanted cutting edges furnish on one side strong and dependable clamping of insert in the tool body, and on the other side, the positive axial rake angle. The usability of this positive axial rake design reduces the cutting forces owed to softer cut and easier penetration into the metal, as well as changing force direction which is critical for use on modern machining centers with pallet systems less stable than on the classical transfer lines.

In standard applications like in the auto industry, the depth-of-cut is less than thirty thousandths of an inch enabling the use of all 8 cutting edges of the Tangmill carbide inserts. Furthermore, in the automotive industry it is prevalent to use a pair of cutters, one for right- and one for left-handed operations, which means that all eight cutting edges of the Tangmill inserts can be applied.

New ISCAR UPGRADES for Fast Metal Removal

Newly born advancements coming from the headquarters of Iscar, delivering the new Upgrade campaign, which guarantees that they are looking to the future. The new Upgrade campaign, proposed to be made public at the end of year 2008, will offer original tools for milling, turning, hole making and multifunction applications, complementing the FMR (Fast Metal Removal) tool families with one aim in mind - to increase productivity on the shop floor and to expand profits.

Iscar's focal point for this year, with no doubt, are the new coatings, new substrate compositions, new cutting edge geometries, new sizes, new tangential clamping mechanisms and new coolant nozzle functionality. Iscar's future trends incorporate new carbide insert grades for effectual and money-saving machining, more cutting edges for each insert and superior tangential clamping mechanisms which can significantly lessen the cutting strain. The induction of the AL-TEC, PVD coating mainly for nodular cast iron, a-TECH, CVD coating largely for grey cast iron and the DO-TECH, dual CVD PVD coating for better strength will remodel the way industry machines cast iron. Furthermore, Iscar offering mini inserts is an alternate trend within the Upgrade movement, referring to minimizing the sizes of the Tangmill carbide inserts into Minitang, in order to simplify fine pitch configuration which will expedite feed rates. In addition, the minimal size of the carbide inserts and their tangential location in the pockets allow a much bigger core diameter, in terms of tool configuration, when compared to standard radially positioned inserts.

Original Tools And Carbide Insert Arrangements From Iscar To Better Maximize The Machining Procedure
Iscar is introducing Penta 34 carbide inserts with a new PB chipformer. The PB chipformer features a single cavity with a positive rake, neutral shoulder angle, and a honed edge. It is actually a C-type chipformer with a different frontal edge.

Iscar Recently Releases Several Brand New Lines To Increase Their Family Of Milling Cutters
Iscar recently released a new family of High Speed Milling adjustable endmills and facemills that will improve milling of aluminum, non-metallics, cast iron and hardened steel. This should prove especially useful in the automotive and aerospace industries.

The Most Recent In Carbide Endmill Designs In A Extended And Outstanding Line From Iscar
Manufacturers and die & mold shops can eliminate chatter problems in many milling operations with Iscar's new Chatterfree endmills. The cutters' variable-pitch flute pattern eliminates harmonic vibration, the main source of chatter. This enables faster cutting and finer finish in rough or finish slotting, shoulder milling and cavity milling.

Some Advancements Have Expanded Iscar's Line Of Indexable Endmills For Elevated Productivity
Helido-Upfeed 04 Two years ago Iscar introduced the extremely efficient H600 indexable endmill line, based on conceptually new Helido-Upfeed double sided inserts with 6 cutting edges. The first insert launched was the H600 WXCU 0806..., which was designed for milling cutters in the diameter range of 50 to 125 mm.

New End Mills From Iscar Can Raise Productivity While Cutting Down Costs
Manufacturers and die & mold shops can banish chatter problems in numerous milling operations with Iscar's new Chatterfree end mills. The cutters' variable-pitch flute pattern eliminates harmonic vibration, the primary source of chatter. This enables faster cutting and finer finish in rough or finish slotting, shoulder milling and cavity milling.
